Here is a post from Jared and my blog (I think I've invited all of you, if not, let me know and I will do so ASAP). I think you'll all enjoy it. Miss you all so much.
Happy 4th of July! Logan was very excited (see above) to celebrate his first Fourth. We really enjoyed the weekend. The other day we went down with some friends to Center Street and enjoyed the festivities (aka a Pina Colada). Jared even okayed me to get some hair accessories. Saturday night we watched fireworks from our house, which was very fun. Sunday we got invited over for a BBQ at our friends place - here is Logan being entertained by his Uncle Checho/Sergio (he and his wife are expecting twins in October).BUT, today is what we've all been waiting for . . . the Provo Parade and a chance to see my sister Annelisa (currently serving as a missionary in Provo)!!! We were all ready. Jared went over early this morning and claimed a spot. We made this wonderful eye-catching poster yesterday in preparation for this big event.
We all waiting very patiently and clapped at the appropriate times for the various floats, bands, school mascots, and veterans. Logan, such a stud. (Actually, he was such a champ - facing the hot sun for 2 hours during his naptime and he never cried!)
There were many important people in the parade and exciting things to see.
Pirates . . .
Important historical figures (from right, that's Nephi, Joseph Smith, and Moses). But most important of all . . . was my sister!!!!!! People stood up and the cheering commenced (not joking). Here's the banner we'd been waiting to see ALL parade (missionaries were near the end).
Anyone recognize a certain S/sister?
We waved and saw each other and I still wasn't sure if she was going to come over, but when I saw another Sister pushing her over, I thought, "Hey, I've got a chance!" So I started waving her over.
And she CAME OVER!!! We hugged, I told her I loved her, she told me the same, then she was gone! As I watched step back in line with her fellow missionaries, someone behind me said, "Man, I miss her." It was one of Annelisa's old roommates. I miss Annelisa too.
Here's the awesome video our friend Jordan got:
Best 4th of July EVER!!!A huge and ginormous THANK YOU to the Furnesses for not only coming along with us and celebrating the 4th, but also agreeing to and doing a blue-ribbon, gold-medal job at photo/video chronicling our sighting of Annelisa. You guys are the best!
What a great day.
