Well, since Shenanny thinks she's all cool and can post what's happening in her life, I can too. Actually, I was thinking of posting today because I watched She's the Man while Jared was still at Priesthood session. It made me smile, but miss you all greatly when I had no one to do my impression to, ". . . when they turn out to be the exact opposite!" (the voice tremblings just don't translate to text). I also thought of you all when I looked in my purse (I hadn't used this one in a while) and I pulled out a paper. When I opened it up, it was a "how to check yourself" paper complete with pictures. Jared's brothers were over, but don't worry, I didn't corrupt them. You never know when you have to WOFYB, do you?
School's going good. Picture day was yesterday. I really like a lot of the teachers I work with. We've actually formed a secret group, RASTA, the Really Awesome Super Teachers Association. It consists of me, Melanie (a coach, she's our age), Brian (science teacher -- kind of reminds me of Oscar, and he's really sarcastic, which is awesome), Kevin (the history teacher), and of course Becca (my sister). It's fun to vent with funny people. Melanie and I are slowly converting everyone else to the Office. Speaking of the Office, what do you guys think of the new season? One of the janitors, Stu, loves the Office. We analyze all the time; it's fun.
So we're going to Italy! Becca's the leader of the Study Abroad Club and so Jared and I are going with this huge group that's going with Education First Tours. It'll be 9 days over Spring Break. We're so excited and for what we're getting, it's really cheap!
I love being an evil teacher. Last week I had 4 detentios, and I already have one for Monday. Two weeks ago I sent home Progress Reports (most of my kids literally had F's) and then last week I e-mailed all the parents who hadn't seen the Progress Reports. Needless to say, many of my students are now motivated. (Like a couple kids are banned from playing football until they bring their grade up). This one kid almost got a concussion in my class the other day (a desk fell on his head), but he was alright. Then, this girl got a concussion at her soccer practice, and the day after in school, I kept laughing to myself because I kept on thinking of Dwight: "Okay, Pan." "Dad?" There's this adorable 7th grade butterball who is so cute. His name is Collin and I'll have to show you pictures of him. He frequently gives me hugs. Oh, so many stories for you all.
So this'll be fun -- next week for Canadian Thanksgiving, my mom and Bryce will be in town. Guess who will also be in town? My dad and Darcy and their family. They're dropping Darcy's daughter off at a school here. So hopefully it will be an uneventful weekend.
So a temple in Calgary?!?!?!?!? Awesome!!!!!!!!!
I think of you ladies often and I miss you more than I miss candy. And I really miss candy. Please write on the blog. I too, along with I'm-not-going-to-tell-my-true-friends-anything-really-important-Shenanny, believe that we can still be keep in touch with WOFYB. We will always be connected though, together and apart. It would just be nice to talk with you guys. If I think of anything else amusing, exciting, dull, or BOOB related, I'll let you know.
Keep it real,
I love you so much and we REALLY need to have a reunion soon (hey, when does Manthighs get home?).
Love,
NOG
